چکیده
Abstract A new strategy is introduced for estimating population size and networked characteristics. Sample selection based on a multi-wave snowball sampling design. generalized stochastic block model posited the population’s network graph. Inference Bayesian data augmentation procedure. Applications are provided to simulated populations an empirical population. The results demonstrate that statistically efficient estimates of distribution can be achieved.

Rowland Atkinson and John Flint are researchers at the Department of Urban Studies, University of Glasgow. Both have an interest in the spatial distribution and experience of social exclusion and have been commissioned to devise a methodology for tracing residents who leave regeneration areas in Scotland. •In its simplest formulation snowball sampling consists of identifying respondents who are...

abstract while task-based instruction is considered as the most effective way to learn a language in the related literature, it is oversimplified on various grounds. different variables may affect how students are engaged with not only the language but also with the task itself. the present study was conducted to investigate language and task related engagement on the basis of the task typolog...

Background: Network Scale-up (NSU) method is an indirect method for the estimation of hidden behaviors. In NSU, respondents are asked about the number of members they know from a subpopulation of interest (e.g., injecting drug user) and assume that the prevalence of risky behavior in the networks of a random sample of respondents is similar to that of the population. However, first, we need to ...
متن کاملEstimating the size of populations at high risk for HIV using respondent-driven sampling data.
The study of hard-to-reach populations presents significant challenges. Typically, a sampling frame is not available, and population members are difficult to identify or recruit from broader sampling frames. This is especially true of populations at high risk for HIV/AIDS. Respondent-driven sampling (RDS) is often used in such settings with the primary goal of estimating the prevalence of infec...

Representing against population with a subset of it is termed as sampling. Sampling can either be statistical or non-statistical. In statistical sampling (probability sampling technique) calculating the probability of getting any particular sample is possible. It is scientific and every element stands an equal chance of being selected. In statistical sampling, workforce, time and money highly l...
